Born in the periphery of Rio de Janeiro, Costa Jpeg found in art a way to survive · first through poetry and music as a rock guitarist, then back to his rawest form, drawing. A former tech journalist who covered the early decentralized networks, moving into digital art was the logical next step.

In 2021 he took his vision on-chain, merging illustration with glitch art, collage and abstraction into a raw mirror of the digital age · and building web tools to push pixel manipulation further.

"PEPEISDEAD" entered the legendary Fake Rares (Series 4); he became a curated Notable Pepes artist and was hand-picked by OpenSea as an emerging artist for its Get Based campaign. His work carries the restlessness of a social analyst · meme-soaked commentary on internet culture and web3.

Today he is, above all, a digital artist and painter with an active on-chain presence, connecting his Rio roots to exhibitions worldwide.
